Blair Taylor, the director of Towson University’s Center for Interdisciplinary and Innovative Cybersecurity, has been named one of °Õ±ð³¦³ó²Ô¾±³¦²¹±ô.±ô²â’s 15 Maryland innovators of 2025. The recognition honors technologists and researchers driving progress across the state. Awardees power innovation, develop tech behind the screens and give back to their communities.

In addition to her role as a professor and director, Taylor cofounded , a nonprofit dedicated to helping academic institutions develop a cyber-ready workforce. Through SecurED, educators and researchers gain the tools and knowledge they need to create a secure and thriving learning environment. In 2022, SecurED earned a $150,000 grant to support further innovation.

SecurED Inc. employs TU students from computer science, marketing, and project management to gain hands-on experience working in a mission driven non-profit organization.

Taylor also co-directs , an open-source cybersecurity curriculum platform developed by TU students. The platform offers free resources to educators who are developing, teaching and refining cybersecurity courses in alignment with curriculum guidelines and standards.
