Looking at adding some measure of decorative concrete to my services. Currently I do natural stone restoration. Some of the tools are common to both industries.

My question is where is the line between the concrete guys and the decorative people. Do companies that offer decorative concrete do the overlays etc.. or is that work done by traditional concrete companies ?

If you offer decorative concrete is providing the overlay services normally expected.

Thanks
Joe

joe, lines're often blurr'd,,, most conc guys add'd dec conc to broaden their range + add profit - so did we,,, then we look'd at it from another view & found it TOO broadening so start'd another co specifically for existing conc enhancements be it acid-stain or o'lays,,, competitively, stone's $18sf here & o'lays 7-8 $ - big advantage + you're in & out MUCH faster.

we also offer masonary & stone restoration but only common significant tools're a pressure washer & safety glass's ;-) everything depends on your definition of decorative concrete - new or existing enhancement !

Diversification can sometimes mean the difference between mere survival (especially in challenging economic times), treading water but not really getting progressing ahead at a desirable rate, or gaining greater financial rewards by adding various types of decorative concrete services/surfaces. Why turn down or turn away from work that you could successfully accomplish; so long as you do your homework in learning techniques of the trade and use of custom formulated materials necessary to do so. This industry is full of crossover contractors that have a background such as yours.

Thanks for replying. I will have to find what I am comfortable with after getting some training.

Concrete is a pretty neat medium
