I have a job to quote, its a 1600 S/F driveway, Contractor already installed tiles around the drive, my job is to bring the slab to to the elevation of the tiles and finish it with broom. Overlay products at $30 to $40 a bag are not an option its a 3/4 inch overlay.

Got any suggestions?

who's the ' contractor ' ? the tile guy or the gc ? & why tf would any contractor do his work that way ? oy - so whatever, its already done.

we'd place a bonded o'lay either of grout OR conc w/3/8" large aggretate,,, some options are bagg'd products, redi-mix ( 3.7cy ), & roll your own onsite,,, for this job, IF we wanted it, we'd roll our own & be adding ' plasticon ' or cpr1000 - both're proprietary,,, obviously prep & speed of placement're keywords for this job.

knowing how & wanting it're the 2 big things,,, sounds as if someone f'd up & wants you to pull their fat outta the fire,,, that's certainly worth lots more shekels in your pocket !

ps - this ain't a job you want in the summer OR in daylight,,, we'd go to work at 10:00 pm & finish @ 0600 in miami, milton, & key west,,, heat is a HUGE enemy but icewater's a friend.

Thanks for the reply!!!

Great options, guess I'll go with mixed on site, I'll be using sand, cement, Polymer and Fiber (For Cracks), I don't like working at night, nether my wallet.

Heat is not my worst enemy, it's rain, Puerto Rico is a very unstable, winds change very frequently, Weather Channel announces no rain, out in the field the sky is blue and clear, but in less than 5 minutes thing can change to the worst. boom... water without announcement.

I guess Mix on site is the cheapest, Quality solution I've found, unless someone has another opinion...

Thanks!!!

probably already know about prep so won't waste time on that part & 10-4 on the rain.

for the existing conc base, does it display random crkas now ? if so, we'd be thinking about establishing a good jnt pattern prior to any o'lay,,, referencing the existing jnts is also rq'd for an o'lay of almost any thickness - bonded OR unbonded.
