Lindy,
Just read the update on the "hospitality night" at the WOC. Elite Crete isn't listed as a sponser.....
I know Brad has been in contact with you about supporting this wonderful event and was excited about doing their part in supporting this gathering.
I was excited in coming to this and meeting you and several of the other professionals on this forum. I've offered to help you in any way I could to see this happen. Hopefully this is just an over site and all is well. Let me know what I can do.

The event is presented by the Decorative Concrete Forums as a free service to contractors, we have asked some manufacturers and suppliers to chip in to help pay for the cost of putting this together.
There will be free food, beer and wine, plus the location, waitresses, bartenders, security, rentals, Dj's etc.
Last year's party was at a smaller place and we got a lot of complaints regarding the size and how tight it was, this year the location is much bigger, with lots of space and should be quite an event.
This is the largest gathering of decorative concrete contractors anywhere, it is a great opportunity to meet, mingle and network with other contractors, and no worries, no one there will be trying to sell you anything, most people will be busy drinking, eating and having a good time.
This party was born out of Lindy's and Bill's willingness to help contractors get together and we are simply helping them get together and have a good time.
I think $ 35.00 is a pretty good deal considering what you get. Consider the $ 35.00 your yearly membership to the Decorative Concrete Contractor association, a loosely knitted group of people in the industry who hang at the Decorative Concrete Forums.
Our goal is to some day give this party for free to everyone, we'll pay for it from the fees charged on the website for contractor and manufacturer's premium listings, but as of yet we do not have enough paying contractors and manufactures listed to bear the cost.
Look forward to seeing you there.

There have been numerous times over a 10 year span in which Bill and I were the Lone Rangers' as to organizing, managing, acquiring facility, promotion, and acquring funds necessary for the annual hospitality night event. I personally signed on the dotted line as to all financial payment obligations at that time, hoping and praying that I came out even since I could not afford to foot the bill if result was in the red, maxing out my personal credit cards to do so).
Those that have been attending for years know that we (Bill and I) resorted to ticket sales numerous times in the past ... ie: Ernest Cafe in New Orleans, the last hurrah in Florida that was a classy/upscale event in Omni ballroom, and several times in Las Vegas past (all of these were $20 to $30 per ticket) unless they were acquired from a Sponsor at a discounted price (some of whom provided them to their customers in a complimentary manner as their way of saying "thank you" for their loyality and patronage).
The only time it has been "free" (ticket for entrance to keep out non-industry party crashers, but the tickets were "free")was when the annual Decorative Hospitality Night event was held at The Beach (across the street from the outdoor Artistry in Concrete area of the Convention Center), which had plenty of space to accomodate everyone. We were able to do so due to the fact that The Beach did not charge for exclusive use of their facility, bartenders fees, security personnel, etc.; which in Las Vegas is extremely expensive when it comes to exclusive use. Unfortunately, The Beach closed it's doors (entire block it sat on was sold to some developement company) ... had planned on The Beach again (as in the past) being the host facility last year, but they did not advise us until the end of December (only a few weeks from WOC) that we needed to find a new location on such short notice; which was the reason for Blondies being the site (everyone who attended knows that it's size was inadequate for the number of attendees, but we made do the best we could under the circumstances (keeping it free for all); actually we were mislead as to Blondies size/capacity by their manager and had not been able to scope out their place before hand, basically speaking we found ourselves homeless without appropriate notice do to closing of The Beach with the event coming up SOON and no place else to go).
At best the annual DCHN is a break even venture, supported by our highly valued Sponsors (without whom the party could not go on); but, by no means does Sponsor financial support cover the huge monatary investment it takes to provide this meeting place for the enjoyment of all, which is the reason ticket sales are necessary. If you figure the average cost associated with food and beer/wine/drinks in Las Vegas at any bar/lounge or casino/restaurant you are receiving an excellent value for ticket price ... where else can you spend some one on one, face-to-face, time with those that share your interests (it's like trying to find a needle in a haystack if you try finding anyone the Convention Center). Personally, it is one of the highlights of WOC (in my opinion), being the ideal time/place to spend some relaxing time in a hospitable place with my old friends, along with the opportunity to make new one's at party.
Hope to see all of you going to WOC this year there. Happy trails, until we meet again.

To purchase tickets there will soon be a shopping cart checkout, according to what Art told me he was working to put in place, for greater ease in acquring them ... or, you can send an email or call as per the contact information on the DCHN Invitation (see heading on "home page" and at the top of each forum catagory) to purchase tickets. Tickets will also soon be in the hands of Sponsors (another source) prior to the DCHN and/or from them at WOC.
Please do not send any money to me/Lindy ... the Decorative Concrete Forums (Art) is now the manager of DCHN event; I now only serve in a co-host and promotional capacity since the event was taken over/transfered into the hands of the DCF. As to Art's reference (forum dues), he was joking of course, but no one that frequents the DCF can say they have not gained $35.00 worth of information over any one year's timespan (assisting them in their business ventures, or should I say adventures).
Happy trails. Viva Las Vegas.

Okay....I've ordered my tickets..Do they get mailed out? Do we pick them up? Do we need to worry they will be in the mail and not get here in time? Or is our name just added to a list? Need to know!! Thanks.

Simply bring your invoice/receipt and ID to the party. Your name will be on a list and your tickets will be waiting for you. It is too late and risky to mail them now.
