do have any idea why this is happening? These look like really good tools and I have thought of purchasing some. Is the business there? do the ones selling these items possibly have bad marketing plans?

The Engrave-a-Crete tools are AMAZING
Engrave-a-Crete's support: Unsurpassed
What happens is that these are specialiazed tools and people buy them without realizing that it does take work to do the projects, or simply, like anyhting else - a car or a snowmobile for example - some people may buy them on impulse, and then turn around and put them in the resale market. A lucky break for the rest of us.

Hi - my thoughts are that like anything else in your offerings, artistic scoring is a product you'd have to sell.
It is an easy and creative way to delimit colors and patterns to create interest.
You can also use it to create intricate tile like patterns and then even grout the scored areas to add even more interest without leaving the indented lines open.
Pricing is always a matter of intricacy, difficulty and ultimately how much time will you need to add to complete the job.
Darrel and the rest of the personnel are always open to speak to you. I'd approach them for ideas- both for pricing and marketing. Have you attended one of their seminars? They review all these questions and different methods of using all the equipment.
I personally use the Shark, the Wasp and the Barracuda the most - since they can be used pretty much free-hand to create concrete rugs and other interesting patterns, or use their limitless choice of templates.
BTW - EAC also has a forum for users, where you may be able to get some really good suggestions for projects and pricing ideas.

i'm very impress'd w/the engineering, design, materials, & manufacturing,,, but i haven't seen the need to invest 'cause that (*&%@$()&$@ payroll company's taking all my $$$$$$,,, if i ever gettem paid, i'll worry about e-a-c then,,, till then, haven't seen anything we can't do w/the equip already in the studio,,, perhaps that'll change some day but it better hurry.
most people see dec conc, look at their great web page, register, attend, buy the pkg, & come home to mow around the trlr,,, when things don't work out, its THEN they discover that there's not all that much conc workable w/the equip.
tried to get into that forum a few times but no luck { maybe they heard of me in advance ? },,, i know 2 guys who bought the whole magilla,,, you could buy either of 'em for $.50 on the $1.00.

The problem is you can do most dec scoring with a $45 grinder and a $100 Skill saw. Those Mongoose kits are about $4000.
EAC has some nice stuff. How they can sell a Skil saw with wheels for $4000 is beyond me or a 7" grinder with wheels for $13,000 is even more amazing. More power to them. There is one born every day.
