Coloring techniques

Member Posts: 4 Joined: 08-03-2007	What type of coloring does everyone have success with for the Fossil Crete or flex-c-ment mix? I have played around with Kemiko's Rembrandt water based stain through an HVLP. I have also tried 1 part wb sealer and 1 part water with color paint pigment and sponged it on....... any suggestions Thanks

Member Posts: 586 Joined: --	We make a vertical overlay and came up with a very simple to use and very effective system to color it. We teach our contractors to use our HardBright H20 (a water base sealer used for sealing rocks, waterfalls and vertical overlays) mixed with water 1 to 1 and DecoColorants (24 colors available in liquid form) in a quantity just enough to keep the colors transparent but strong enough to show. You apply this mix either with a sponge to each individual stone, or you can spray the whole section with one base color and then highlight with other colors. This system is basic and similar to what you describe and has given us very good results. The whole secret is to keep the color transparent so it does not look like paint, and to learn how to highlight so it looks more natural.
