I was wondering if you all had a specefic Co. prefrence when it came to sealing with Epoxy, or just your .02 on the Topic. I have only used Granicrete 2 part epxy with great results, the only bad part is the COST???

First, let me say that I have no inside knowledge as to the physical properties/formulation of epoxy you are using.

Not all epoxies are created equal in relation to ... UV resistance, compressive strength, adhesion to concrete, wear resistance, tensile strength, hardness, indention resistance, water absorption (which must be less than 1% in order to maintain clarity), chemical resistance, etc. ... therefore, you need to acquire the physical properties/technical data sheets of any/all epoxies you are considering in order to make accurate comparisons.

Pot life, cure out time, proper viscosity to assure even/uniform flow out, air temperatures and and relative humidity perimeter's minimums, etc. will vary in relation to differing custom formulations. Obviously you want to select one that is the most user/applicator friendly.

Not all epoxies are 100% solids (as to resin content), VOC compliant (solvent free), classified as non-hazardous material, and meet the sanitary surfacing criteria of the USDA and FDA ... this is something else that you need to do your homework on before selecting an epoxy.

Cost per gallon of epoxy is directly related to the quality and physical properties of the sealer, as well as how many middle men/distributors it passes through. Of course material price is one thing, but readily available technical assistance if/when necessary is another major concern when selecting an epoxy.

Average coverage of 100% solids, industrial/commercial high performance epoxies will be approximately 200 sq.ft. per gallon. When purchasing direct from the manufacturer you average cost for premium quality/custom formulated epoxy should be in the $40 to $46 per gallon range. Due to the viscosity of most 100% solids epoxy, 1 coat is generally sufficient (so long as surface profile is level and smooth, see details pertaining to coverage/substrate profile on tech data/specs of manufacturer ofthis on manufactures). If you divide $40 per gallon by 200 sq.ft., result will be $.20 per sq.ft. ... $45 per gallon by 200 sq.ft., result will be $.23 per sq.ft. So long as the epoxy is non-hazardous (solvent free), it can be economically shipped (on UPS ground, Fedex ground, or standard common carriers/freight companies).

If you would like detailed information, tech data/specifications, application guidelines, price per gallon, etc.. from me; in relation to the 100% solids UV resistant epoxy I have manufactured/formulated for 25 years, drop me an email or PM. Sample units are available upon request for your testing/evaluation, all you pay is the nominal UPS charge. (Note: I am a Supplier/Sponsor of this forum).
