Hi guys,

So I got a 4" wet grinder (5/8). And I have been looking around for diamond cup wheels and polishing pads, and they do cost a fair bit of money...I am not complaining about the cost don't get me wrong, I just would like to know how long do they last typically, such as how many kitchens could you do before you need to replace them.

I am just asking because since I will be moving far and where I am going they will not have any, I am just trying to figure out how many set will I need.

If the grinder I am using turns out to be good enough, I will probably get 2 spare ones.

Thanks.
Cal

whatever the coverage, you won't have fedex/ups/dhl/usps where you're going ? ? ?,,, heck, i buy diamond cup wheels from a guy on the other side of atl & have 'em shipp'd.

no one needs 3 4" wet grinders unless they're cheap chink knockoffs,,, maybe there's a std coverage rate but i'd guess you'll need to have std conc, etc,,, your results may be different than others in the craft - aggregate hardness, sharpness of fines, etc.

I'll be lost on a little Pacific island, sure I can get stuff by the known carriers shipped over, and by the time I pay for shipping, and then customs, VAT (Which is all calculated on the cost of product plus shipping), they will end up costing a lot of money...I have the opportunity now being in Australia to get a few, and can skip on all the above, so just wanted an average idea on how long they last...

Once we were seeding pebles on a driveway for a client, and our concrete mixer electric motor gave up on us right in the middle of the job...shit also happen to the best brand...we had to rent one to finish the job...wasn't too hard finding a mixer quickly being in Sydney.

There if I blew my grinder, I am out for 2 weeks...so I do prefer to have some readily available backup...as a matter of fact everything I bring there is duplicate.
