What type of countertop are you making? Most c-top folks are making thier own mix, tweeking them to fit the application. In my opinion all comm. products are way to expensive. Concrete, when you break it down, is just dirt, literally. $1 plus per pound is alot to pay for a bag of dirt. Research and netwoking is the best product avail

Finally someone I agree with about concrete mixes.

I would never pay $50 for a 50lb bag of "concrete countertop" mix.

We've been installing cast in place countertops since '95. Never in my 13 years have I added in all these crazy additives. I use concrete....sand, rock, cement and water.

The only extra thing I add is acrylic and thats it.

We cast in place though so thats a big reason. When placing upside down in a mold I can see how the extra additives will aid in a good finish but for cast in place, I see no reason for it.
