I AM LOOKING AT POSSIBLY STARTING A JOB IN A SMALL HOME THAT WHEN THE BLUE CHALK LINES WERE POPPED, THE CONTRACTOR SPRAYED A THIN COAT OF CLEAR SPRAY PAINT (WAL-MART COLOR PLACE BRAND) OVER THE LINES. THIS IS ONLY A PROBLEM WHERE IT CROSSES THE DOORWAYS. I USED A SMALL AMOUNT OF XYLENE WITH A RAG AND GOT SOME OF THE LINE OFF, BUT AM CONCERNED ABOUT PENETRATION INTO THE CONCRETE. WILL THE NORMAL FLOOR SCRUBBER W/ BLACK PAD WORK IF I MAYBE PRETREAT WITH XYLENE? ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE APPRECIATED. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE RUN INTO THIS PROBLEM.

I usually wipe off what I can with xylene and then wet sand the whole floor and spend extra time in the doorways where the laquer was sprayed on the chalk lines just to make sure they are gone.

You could also lightly hand grind the areas to get it but just be carful not to go too deep

you can use xylene, lacquer thinner, or mek to take it all off. it wont affect the stain. just dont use acetone. that will block stain. i dont know exactly why, but i found out the hard way. mineral spirits (paint thinner) does the same thing.

I used Franmar soy jell. Just paint some on with a chip brush, leave for a few minutes then hit it with the black pad and water. Came right up, no problems.
