 Crisp lines with Polyaspartic?

I have a job that is requiring several color fields of quartz. I am planning to get crisp lines using masking tape, which works with most other systems;micro,self-leveler, ect. What I am wondering is; has anyone had issues with the solvents in PAP reacting with the adhesive in the masking tape and causing a mess. I am aware timing of removal is crucial, just wanting to bounce ? off of others. Any help/tips would be appreciated. Thanks, Craig

PAP formulations vary, from approximately 75% solids all the way up to 100% solids. Actual solvent contents are typically extremely low (1.5-2.0 per gallon), or non-existant.

Speaking in generalities, since I don't know whose material you will be using, I have used duct tape to create a crisp/straight finish line using clear PAP sealer and pigmented PAP coatings, but it is EXTREMELY important that you pull the tape IMMEDIATELY, before it gets locked under that dries very quickly.

thanks for the reply, lindy. I am planning to use flexmar "slower setting" 75% solids. From what I have done with this product, I figure I might have about 10-15 min work time to broadcast quartz and pull tape. Sound about right to you?

10-15 might be within the window of time to pull the tape, but of course that depends on the curing conditions (air temperature, humidity, etc.).

Before I made ANY assumption, I would put some tape down on a piece of masonite or something ...on the job site/so circumstances and cure out conditions would be the same as the floor you are about to do... apply the polyurea, then try to pull the tape at various timed intervals. By performing this test of time you will have a greater insight into the actual window of time for successfully doing so, detering the chance of getting the tape locked under the polyurea.

If you are using Flexmar, good luck with a quartz broadcast. I have used that product a lot, its really easy to use, but only for chip broadcasts. The product is full of solvents, making it very thin. This product will bleed under your 3M painters tape, so be careful. Again, good luck with Flexmar with that kind of floor system.
