I poured a pool deck last fall and have been waiting until the weather broke to seal it. When we went to prep for sealing we discovered dozens of stains from tree matter that will not come up with pressure washer, simple green, or elbow grease. Looks like someone put a hundred tea bags on the patio. any suggestions?

btw- this forum rocks. thanks for all the time you guys invest in it.

I had the same issue years ago with acorns. tried all kinds of cleaners, solvents, and rust removers. I think I spent $100 on crap that i was mis-using. I have since learned to research rather than react. There are people that make a living creating cleaning products for specific types of stains(LOL) Prosoco BioKlean worked like a charm

You have to use something mildly acidic to clean it, there are some products made just for that that are Phosphoric acid based, effective but mild enough not to damage the finish.

If some of the release color is removed during the clean up process you can always go back with an antiquing solution and touch it up.

not that the prvious post replies won't work, i would try the least agressive first. You are trying to remove tannin stains from leaves; biological stain removers. Solvents and acids will often have little effect on these type of stains, they seem to react more with the concrete matrix than some pain in the ass brown stains on a nice slab. Good luck.

Thanks for the advise. We've picked up a pail of Bio-Clean and are going to try it today.
