Member Posts: 2 Joined: --	Can someone who is knowledgeable please explain why chemtone stain has no hydrochloric acid? Does it have other ingredients that take the place of the acid to make it work? Is it ever preferable to add hydrochloric or muriatic acid to their formula to achieve better results? I understand the cost savings from a shipping standpoint, so no need to touch upon that subject. thanks in advance.

Member Posts: 6 Joined: 05-23-2007	Hydrochloric acid and muriatic acid are one in the same. Older, pre-IUPAC (International Union of Physical and Analytical Chemists) textbooks refer to it as muriatic acid, as well as many older chemists.
