Staining on acid washed concrete???

My challenge with this particular customer is that he thought he was helping by acid-washing his mildewed front and back porches in preparation for our staining job. Not a good thing. He did this over the Memorial weekend and today we tried to spray on a practice coat of a Bronze stain and it did not take at all. What options do I have to get stain to take on this customer's porch. I do not want to overlay and stain since it will be much more costly to him. All help is greatly appreciated! Chris K. (in TN)
