Multilingual Learners Conference

Towson University鈥檚 Multilingual Learners (ML) Conference is a free, one-day conference that invites classroom and ML teachers, school administrators, university faculty, community members, and others to learn about research-based practices for multilingual learners and their families.

The conference features topical breakout sessions to acquire new skills and strategies for working with multilingual learners (MLs) and their families. 

Session topics:

  • Vocabulary building with MLs
  • Writing with MLs
  • Dual language immersion
  • Immigration rights
  • Special Ed with MLs
  • Math with MLs
  • Free ML resources for teachers and families
  • Community Schools with MLs
  • ML strategies for content teachers 
  • Increasing Oral Language of MLs

Registration

Conference registration will open the first week of February. Registration is free and includes:

  • Breakfast and lunch
  • Parking
  • T-shirt
  • Certificate of completion for four (4) professional learning hours
    • NOTE: full-day attendance is required to receive the certificate
